About

A fast, tactical plan: buy a 3× semiconductor ETF on market dips, hedge with volatility when markets are overheated, and otherwise sit in the strongest safe havens. Uses bond‑vs‑cash, trend, and RSI “hot/cold” signals to switch gears.
NutHow it works
First, a warning light: if bonds recently beat cash, be cautious; if not, be active. In active mode, use RSI (a 0–100 hot/cold gauge) on the S&P 500: hot (>75) hold UVXY (volatility hedge), cold (<30) buy SOXL (3× semis). In between, rotate into the 4 best “safe” areas (USD, long Treasuries, gold/commodities, utilities, mid‑term VIX) by 1‑month return. Extra trend checks (EM trend and wood vs gold) refine when to take risk.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample annualized return ~42.6% vs S&P ~22.1%, powered by tactical hedges (volatility, safe havens) and a Calmar ~0.83. Higher upside, but larger drawdowns (~51% vs ~19%), with slightly lower risk-adjusted Sharpe (~0.99 vs 1.39).

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
