About

A rules-based, regime-switching strategy that seeks leveraged upside in good times and shifts to hedges/safe havens in stress. Uses a bond canary, short‑term “heat” (RSI), and momentum to fade spikes, buy dips, and rotate defensively when needed.
NutHow it works
Step 1, “canary”: if broad bonds (BND) beat T‑bills (BIL) over ~3 months, market is “normal”; otherwise “stressed.” Normal: If risk looks healthy, hold TQQQ (3x Nasdaq). If prices get short‑term “too hot” (RSI, a 0–100 heat meter), briefly switch to UVXY (volatility hedge). If risk looks weak, use TMF (3x long Treasuries) plus UPRO (3x S&P) or UVXY/VIXM, sized by recent choppiness. Stressed: RSI catcher—very hot → UVXY; very cold → UPRO; else hold the 4 best “safe havens” (USD, long Treasuries, gold/commodities, utilities/volatility).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample gains ~26.5% annualized vs SPY ~18%, with regime switching leveraging in good times and hedges in stress, seeking alpha and solid risk-adjusted results, though drawdowns can be higher than the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
