This strategy first asks: “Does the market backdrop look healthy?” using TIP, a bond fund used here as an early warning signal. If yes, it buys leveraged U.S. stock funds, leaning hardest into big tech when global markets look strong. If not, it checks whether the S&P 500 looks overheated or beaten down. It may buy a volatility fund during panic, buy a rebound candidate after a selloff, or rotate into the strongest defensive assets like Treasuries, gold, commodities, utilities, energy, or the U.S. dollar.

Out-of-sample edge: ~40.7% annualized return vs ~20.7% for the S&P, driven by regime-driven leverage that captures upside in strong markets and rotates to defensives in risk-off periods. Higher upside, but larger drawdowns (~57%).
