About

A simple monthly-diversified mix (JEPI 40%, DBMF 40%, plus TQQQ 20% only when Nasdaq shows momentum; otherwise 0–20% back to JEPI/DBMF) that uses a 20/150-day QQQ moving-average signal to time a leveraged Nasdaq bet.
NutHow it works
Here's what happens in plain language: - Every month you allocate money into three parts: 40% into JEPI (an income-oriented equity fund), 40% into DBMF (a futures-trend fund meant to diversify by following market trends), and 20% into TQQQ (a very aggressive bet that aims to triple the Nasdaq-100’s daily moves). - However, the 20% TQQQ part only goes in if a simple trend test says the Nasdaq appears strong: you look at QQQ (the Nasdaq-100 tracker) and compare two moving averages of its price. If the short-term 20-day average is higher than the long-term 150-day average, you add the 20% to TQQQ. If not, you skip TQQQ and instead split that 20% between JEPI and DBMF again (making the two funds equal-weight on that month). - The 40% JEPI and 40% DBMF are always part of the plan, providing steady income and diversification. The TQQQ portion adds growth when the Nasdaq shows a clear upward trend, but it also increases risk if the market turns down. - All weights are reset each month (monthly rebalance), so the portfolio posture can shift with the trend signal. - The backtest notes indicate that dividends are included in the reported returns, but dividends are not automatically reinvested by the system (so cash from dividends isn’t being put back into the same mix unless you arrange it separately). - In short: a steady core of income and diversification with a monthly chance to tilt toward a high-risk growth bet on tech when the market shows momentum.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: ~22.9% annualized return vs S&P 24.6%, yet with lower drawdown (~16.7% vs ~18.8%), lower beta (~0.85), and solid Sharpe (~1.47). Income/diversified core with conditional Nasdaq growth when momentum is strong.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
