About

Rules-based switcher for Japan: ride uptrends with 2x EZJ, use unlevered JPXN in milder conditions, and park in T‑bills (BIL) when prices look too hot or weak. Signals use moving averages and a short‑term “hot/cold” gauge (RSI).
NutHow it works
It switches among three funds using simple rules. RSI = 0–100 short‑term “hot/cold” gauge (>70 hot, <30 cold). Funds: JPXN = Japan stocks; EZJ = 2x Japan; BIL = T‑bills; SHY = short US Treasuries (signal only). - If Japan (JPXN) is above its 200‑day average: hold EZJ, unless EZJ is very hot (RSI>79) → BIL. - Else: if EZJ is very cold (RSI<31) → EZJ. Otherwise, if JPXN>20‑day average: hold JPXN unless hot (RSI>70) → BIL. If short‑term weak, buy JPXN only when it looks more washed‑out than SHY; else BIL.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: 23.61% return vs 21.89% for the S&P, using a rules-based trend/RSI system that leverages EZJ in uptrends and parks in BIL to cap risk. Diversified Japan exposure with risk controls; higher drawdown vs the S&P.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
