About

A switch‑on risk‑off strategy. When bonds look weak and inverse‑Nasdaq looks strong, it may short biotech and long‑term Treasuries via leveraged ETFs; if signals disagree, it stays in T‑Bills. KMLM acts as a trend confirmation before each trade.
NutHow it works
Daily, it checks a simple “recent-strength” score: if 7–10yr Treasuries look weak while inverse‑Nasdaq looks strong, it turns on. Then it tries two bets—against biotech (LABD) and against long bonds (TMV)—but only if a trend fund (KMLM, managed futures) also looks strong. Otherwise it holds T‑Bills (BIL).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this risk-off strategy delivers ~34.9% annualized return with a 1.50 Sharpe and negative beta, while max drawdown is ~15.2%—better downside protection than the S&P (~19.6% return, 1.13 Sharpe, ~18.8% drawdown).

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
