About

Follows the commodity cycle using DBC. When trends strengthen, holds a simple basket of commodities and mining/ag stocks; if soft, parks in T‑bills. When weak, owns the 2 strongest picks across commodities, bonds, and defensives, with a cash buffer and 5% rebalance band.
NutHow it works
It watches a broad commodity fund (DBC). If DBC’s 100‑day average price is above its 252‑day and its 50‑day is above its 100‑day, it holds three equal pieces: DBC (broad commodities), XME (metals/mining stocks), DBA (agriculture). If near‑term weak, it parks in SHV (T‑bills). If the long‑term trend is down, it buys the 2 best performers over ~1 year from a menu spanning gold/silver/oil/copper/agriculture, timber & energy stocks, consumer staples, 7‑10y Treasuries (IEF) or an ETF that rises when those bonds fall (TBX), and broad commodities—keeping the rest in cash. Rebalances only when weights drift ~5%.
CheckmarkValue prop
Diversified, rule-based commodity strategy with inflation-friendly exposure and a cash buffer. Out-of-sample: ~15% annualized return, ~0.95 Sharpe, and ~0.39 beta to the S&P—delivering growth with diversification and built‑in risk controls versus a pure S&P 500 bet.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
