About

A high-risk trading strategy centered on semiconductor stocks. It makes aggressive short-term bullish or bearish bets on chips, and when things are calmer it rotates into whichever chip, energy, market, or commodity assets are strongest.
NutHow it works
This strategy is mainly a fast-moving bet on the chip industry. It watches the semiconductor sector first using SOXX, a fund that represents many chip companies. If chip stocks have surged or dropped too far in just a few days, it makes a short-term contrarian bet using SOXL (a very aggressive bet that chips rise) or SOXS (a very aggressive bet that chips fall). If there is no extreme move, it checks NVIDIA and AMD for signs they are unusually overheated or oversold. If neither is at an extreme, it follows the stronger recent trend: during healthy chip uptrends it picks the strongest recent performer from chip and energy names; during weaker chip trends it shifts toward stronger broad-market, commodity, or energy funds.
CheckmarkValue prop
Chip-focused strategy with outsized, out-of-sample upside vs SPY: ~78% annualized return, Sharpe ~1.09, Calmar ~1.06. Diversified into energy/commodities with leveraged semis. Higher drawdowns in extreme moves, but compelling risk-adjusted upside.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
