A symphony is an automated trading strategy — Learn more about symphonies here

About

Rules-based, semiconductor-first strategy. It makes short-term contrarian trades with 3× chip funds during big weekly swings; otherwise it uses AMD/Tempus “heat” and a trend filter to rotate into chip/energy winners or go defensive (SPY/commodities). Very volatile.
NutHow it works
Splits money into two chip-focused sleeves. Sleeve 1: if semis (SOXX) moved >5% in 5 days, it makes a quick contrarian bet with 3× chip funds—SOXL (up) or SOXS (down) using the last day’s move. Otherwise it reads Tempus (TEM): if its RSI (0–100 heat scale) is very high, bet down; if very low, bet up. Sleeve 2 starts by reading AMD’s RSI the same way. If no extremes, both use a trend check via EMA (10-day > 200-day): if up, own recent winners among SOXX/AMD/TEM/VST/ENPH/XLE; if not, shift to SPY, commodities (DBC), or Energy. High risk.
CheckmarkValue prop
Semis-first, two-sleeve strategy: out-of-sample Sharpe 1.19 vs SPY 0.91; Calmar 2.53; out-of-sample return ~100% vs SPY ~17%. Higher upside with disciplined risk control, but larger drawdowns (~39%) in bad runs.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
