A symphony is an automated trading strategy — Learn more about symphonies here

About

A tactical, semiconductor‑focused strategy that flips between 3× long/short chips on short‑term extremes, and otherwise rotates into recent winners (or SPY/commodities/energy) using a simple trend filter, with AMD/TEM used as “heat” gauges.
NutHow it works
It splits the portfolio in two. Both halves time the chip sector using SOXX (a semiconductor ETF) as the guide and trade SOXL/SOXS (3× bull/bear chip ETFs). After big 5‑day moves (±5%), it fades the last day’s move. Otherwise it checks RSI (0–100 heat of recent moves): very hot (>90) shorts; very cold (<15) longs. If no signal, a trend check (10‑ vs 200‑day EMA—smoothed prices) picks recent 3‑month winners; if trend is weak, it falls back to SPY/commodities/energy.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: ~86% annualized return vs ~17% for the S&P, Sharpe ~1.11 vs 0.90, Calmar ~2.19. A tactical semiconductors/sector-rotation strategy aiming bigger upside with disciplined risk.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
