About
A high-risk strategy that makes daily bets on big U.S. tech: it buys volatility when tech looks overheated, buys leveraged tech after sharp drops, and otherwise follows the Nasdaq trend up or down.
This strategy watches QQQ, a fund tracking the Nasdaq-100 (big growth/tech names like Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Nvidia, Tesla). It checks whether QQQ looks unusually hot or unusually beaten down using RSI, a 0–100 “temperature gauge” of recent price moves.
If QQQ looks extremely overheated, it buys VIXY, which tends to benefit when market fear jumps.
If QQQ looks heavily sold off, it buys TQQQ and TECL, two aggressive funds that rise a lot if tech rebounds.
If neither extreme applies, it follows the trend: strong uptrend = QLD, mild uptrend = QQQ, weak trend = PSQ, which goes up when the Nasdaq falls.
Out-of-sample edge: ~49% annualized return vs ~17% for S&P; Sharpe ~1.06; Calmar ~1.98. Nasdaq-tech trend/volatility strategy targets higher upside, with larger drawdowns (~24.8% vs ~18.8%).
