About

High‑risk, contrarian tech timing. When QQQ is overheated, it buys UVXY (fear). When QQQ is weak, it buys the most beaten‑down 3x tech/semis ETF. Otherwise, trend rules flip between a 3x long and SQQQ (3x short). Single, concentrated position with big swings.
NutHow it works
It uses QQQ as a “heat meter.” RSI (a 0–100 gauge of how hot/cold recent moves have been) is checked over 5–90 days. If QQQ looks very hot, it buys UVXY (VIX‑futures; jumps when fear spikes). If QQQ looks very cold, it buys the most beaten‑down of TQQQ/TECL/SOXL (3x tech/semis). If no extreme, trend rules choose between a 3x long and SQQQ (3x short QQQ). Always 100% in one ETF.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: ~78% annualized return vs ~18% for the S&P, Sharpe ~1.08 vs ~1.02, Calmar ~1.17. A concentrated 3x tech/vol strategy aiming for alpha in tech cycles—higher upside, but with substantially larger drawdowns.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
