About

A daily, rules-based, multi-ETF portfolio that rotates among growth bets (tech/biotech), volatility hedges, bear/defensive bets, and bonds/cash to chase upside while trying to limit drawdowns through regime-aware hedging.
NutHow it works
- Universe: a large pool of ETFs (growth, defensive, volatility, bonds, cash proxies, international). - Signals: momentum/return (moving averages, exponential moving averages, cumulative returns) and relative strength/overbought-oversold metrics to time entries. - Rotation: assets are grouped into topics (Biotech+Tech, Bear/Bearish hedges, Defense), and the system picks top candidates within each group. - Hedging: volatility bets (UVXY, VIXY), inverse/short bets (SQQQ, SPXS, SOXS), and bond/cash peers (TLT, TMF, SHY, AGG, BIL) provide protection against market drawdowns. - Position sizing: weights are assigned per group, often with full weight within a chosen subgroup, and diversified across groups to reduce single-point risk. - Rebalance: daily updates to reflect new signals; aims to adapt quickly to regime changes while controlling risk with hedges and defensive assets.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample annualized return ~30.5% vs S&P 21.4%, via a dynamic ETF rotation with hedges. Higher upside in growth regimes and built-in volatility/bear hedges for diversification - though drawdowns can be larger in tough markets.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
