About

Rules-based strategy that rides stock uptrends with 3x funds, then pivots to hedges (VIX funds, Treasuries, gold, dollar, defensive sectors) when markets overheat or drop fast. Also trades Treasury trends. Goal: capture gains while sidestepping big hits.
NutHow it works
Core idea: play offense in calm uptrends, switch to defense fast when stress hits. - Offense: own aggressive 3x stock ETFs (tech, S&P, Dow, semis). - Defense: move to “fear” funds (UVXY/VIXM), short‑term Treasuries, gold, strong USD, or defensive sectors. Signals: RSI (hot/cold speedometer), moving averages (trend lines), max drawdown (worst recent drop), and VIX (fear). Separate bond rules trade TMF/TMV by TLT’s trend.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: higher risk-adjusted return (Sharpe ~1.62 vs ~1.43), stronger growth (~27.7% vs 22.9%), and smaller drawdowns (~12.8% vs 18.8%), with a solid Calmar ~2.16.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
