About
A daily, rules-based portfolio that chases growth in calm uptrends (3x S&P/Nasdaq with 3x long bonds) and quickly shifts to safety (USD, gold, staples, short Treasuries, and VIX hedges) when markets wobble. Broad sleeves add tech, energy, commodities, and bonds.
- In calm uptrends, it leans into growth: mostly 3x stock ETFs (UPRO, TQQQ) plus 3x long bonds (TMF).
- If markets drop fast or fear spikes, it shifts to safety: USD (UUP), gold (GLD), staples (XLP), short Treasuries (SHY), or volatility hedges (VIX funds).
- Uses simple signals: trend, “buy-the-dip” triggers, and volatility filters.
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers stronger risk-adjusted performance than the S&P 500: Sharpe ~1.10 vs ~1.05, Calmar ~1.07, and max drawdown ~15.4% vs ~18.8%, with ~16.5% annualized returns—more resilience and smoother gains.
