About

A daily, commodity‑focused strategy that rotates among oil, natural gas, gold, metals and cash using trend and “buy‑the‑dip” signals; adds energy stocks when strong and parks in T‑bills or hedges when weak.
NutHow it works
Every day it asks: which commodity areas are trending up, and which just fell hard? Own them when the short‑term average price is above longer‑term averages (uptrend). If a market was hit hard (very low RSI), it may buy the dip. If trends are weak, it moves to T‑bills (cash). It sometimes picks the strongest oil stocks, adds clean‑energy when it trends, and, if oil is weak but stocks look fine, may briefly use QQQ/QLD. In turmoil it can hedge with inverse funds or Treasuries. Main ETFs: DBC=broad commodities; XME=metals/miners; GLD=gold; DBO/OILK=oil; UCO=2x oil; FCG=nat‑gas producers; UNG=nat‑gas; BOIL/KOLD=2x long/short nat‑gas; XLE=energy stocks; BIL/SHV/SHY=T‑bills.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: higher risk-adjusted returns with less downside and market sensitivity. OOS Sharpe 1.32 vs SPY 1.08; drawdown 10.5% vs 18.8%; beta ~0.28; positive alpha. Diversified commodities/energy trend with hedges vs the S&P.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
