This strategy checks the market every day. If fast-moving stock funds have dropped hard recently, it buys them for a rebound. If they’ve risen too fast, it may buy a volatility fund that often jumps when markets panic. If neither setup exists, it rotates between tech stocks, long-term bonds, commodities, the U.S. dollar, and gold miners based on which areas have been stronger over the past 6 months. If market fear gets extreme, it hides in short-term Treasury bonds.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
