About
Rides mega‑cap tech when QQQ beats its equal‑weight peer (QQQE). If not, uses T‑bill returns to read rates: high = defensive (gold, cash‑like, TIP, USD); low = a milder stock/cash mix. Aim: capture upside, cut downside.
1) It checks if the biggest Nasdaq names are leading: QQQ (top‑heavy Nasdaq‑100) vs QQQE (equal‑weight). If QQQ looks stronger over the past month, it buys mega‑cap tech (MSFT, AAPL, NVDA) plus leveraged Nasdaq funds (QLD ≈2x, TQQQ ≈3x). 2) If not, it looks at BIL’s 1‑yr return to gauge interest rates. If ≥1.75% (rates are high), it goes defensive: mostly gold (SGOL), plus T‑bills (BIL), inflation‑protected Treasuries (TIP), and a long‑USD fund (USDU). Otherwise, it holds a milder mix: dividend stocks (SCHD), the S&P 500 (VOO), and T‑bills.
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers higher upside (~38% annualized) with lower drawdown (~15% vs ~19%), a stronger risk-adjusted Calmar ratio, and adaptive mega-cap/rate regimes that beat the S&P 500 across market conditions.
