Each day: if the S&P 500 (SPY) or the chip sector (SMH) has fallen more than 5% over 10 days, the strategy parks 50% in T‑Bills (BIL) and 50% in gold (GLD). Otherwise, it buys the 5 best 10‑day performers from a vetted AI/tech/defense list and gives more weight to the steadier names (less jumpy over 20 days).
