About

A rules‑based “all‑weather” plan: buy the 3 strongest big U.S. stocks in calm uptrends, but shift to Treasuries, gold, defensives, and managed‑futures when markets turn choppy, fall, or inflation heats up. SPY trend, volatility, and TIP drive the shifts.
NutHow it works
It watches three things: (1) market trend (SPY above/below its 200‑day average), (2) market choppiness (recent volatility), and (3) inflation tone (TIP’s recent return). • Crash: ~80% SHY (short Treasuries), 20% GLD (gold). • Uptrend: 40–60% in the 3 strongest mega‑caps (from MSFT, AAPL, NVDA, etc.); the rest in TLT (long Treasuries), GLD, DBMF (managed futures), and a little SHY. • Downtrend: favor TLT, GLD, SHY, and a defensive basket (healthcare/staples). If TIP is strong (inflation), tilt toward GLD/TIP and energy.
CheckmarkValue prop
All-weather, rules-based strategy buys the top mega-caps in calm markets and hedges with bonds, gold, and managed futures in turbulence. Out-of-sample: ~64.7% annualized return with strong risk-adjusted metrics (Calmar ~27, Sharpe ~3.1) vs SPY.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
