About

A daily, defensive, bearish-tactical strategy: usually sits in a bond fund, but when stocks look overheated or weak it bets on volatility spikes (UVXY) or shorts the Nasdaq (SQQQ); sometimes it holds the U.S. dollar (UUP).
NutHow it works
Each day it checks the market trend: is SPY (S&P 500) above its 200‑day average? If yes and QQQ or SPY look “hot” (10‑day RSI > 79, a 0–100 heat meter), it buys UVXY (volatility; tends to jump when stocks dip). Otherwise it sits in BOND (a core bond fund). If the trend is down, it avoids panics (if RSI < 31 it holds BOND); else it either shorts tech via SQQQ (3x inverse QQQ), buys UVXY after sharp bounces, or holds UUP (U.S. dollar).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: Sharpe 1.73 vs SPY 1.39; annualized return 45.32% vs 29.09%; max drawdown 4.26% vs 12.45%; Calmar 10.63. Higher risk-adjusted returns with a defensive bond core and selective volatility/tech-short bets.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
