About

Daily, rules-based rotation. In uptrends it favors SPY/tech (sometimes leveraged via QLD/SSO). When trends weaken or the dollar strengthens, it shifts to USD, commodities, anti‑beta, and defensive sectors (Staples, Energy), seeking smaller recent drawdowns.
NutHow it works
Rebalances daily. First, a trend/momentum gate: if SPY is above its 200‑day average and QQQ’s RSI (a 0–100 momentum score) > 30, own the stronger of SPY or a rules sleeve (by 35‑day RSI). If QQQ’s RSI ≤ 30, hold XLK. If SPY is below trend, blend XLP, XLE and the rules sleeve. Rules sleeve: If QQQ’s short‑term trend is up, use a bond cue (TIP vs STIP): sunny=QLD+SSO; storms=USDU+BTAL. If bonds are weak or the dollar is rising (UUP 25>100), rotate among USDU, PDBC, OILK, XLB/GDXJ, favoring the set with the smaller recent drop.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy shows higher annual returns (25.2% vs 24.6%), lower max drawdown (15.2% vs 18.8%), and Calmar ~1.66, delivering a risk-adjusted profile similar to the S&P with noticeably stronger downside resilience.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
