About

Rules-based QQQ strategy with a built-in volatility hedge. Buys QQQ on dips in uptrends, shifts to cash/short or VIX hedges when prices look overheated or weak, with bonds and KMLM as extra risk guards.
NutHow it works
Splits ~80% core, ~20% hedge. Core: If the S&P 500 is trending up (above its 200‑day avg), buy QQQ (Nasdaq‑100) on “oversold” signals (low RSI = a 0–100 speedometer). When conditions look overheated (high RSI) or choppy, hold SHV (T‑bills) or PSQ (−1x QQQ). It also checks TLT (long bonds) and KMLM (managed‑futures trend) to tighten risk. Hedge: Scales into VXX/UVXY/VIXY/VIXM when markets look stretched; scales out otherwise.
CheckmarkValue prop
Better downside protection and steadier growth. Out-of-sample Calmar 1.73 and max drawdown 7.3% vs SPY’s 18.8%, while delivering ~12.6% annualized returns with volatility hedges, stronger diversification than the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
