About

Rules-based strategy around the Nasdaq‑100. It buys QQQ on dips in uptrends, hedges “pops” with VIX products, and shifts to cash, Treasuries, or short QQQ in downtrends. KMLM and bond/volatility signals fine‑tune risk.
NutHow it works
Uses simple rules. RSI (a speedometer‑like “hot/cold” reading) flags overbought/oversold. Focus is the Nasdaq‑100 via QQQ (mostly tech/comm/consumer). 1) If SPY is above its 200‑day avg (uptrend), buy QQQ on dips; hedge pops with VIX funds (VXX/UVXY). 2) If not, sit in cash (SHV) or short QQQ (PSQ); sometimes own Treasuries (TLT). It also watches KMLM (a managed‑futures trend gauge): if KMLM is weak, it plays extra defense. Bond/volatility signals fine‑tune risk.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample Nasdaq-100 strategy offers higher risk-adjusted returns than the S&P 500 (Sharpe ~1.03 vs 0.88) with similar upside (~17.49%), but far smaller drawdowns (~7.3% vs 18.8%) and lower beta (~0.63)—a smoother, resilient growth path.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
