About

A rules-based, tech-tilted strategy that rides Nasdaq uptrends with leveraged ETFs, but quickly rotates to hedges like inverse tech, Treasuries, the US dollar, gold, or VIX funds when markets get overheated or fall fast. Uses trend and “hot/cold” signals.
NutHow it works
It’s a rules-based, multi-sleeve portfolio. First it checks if the market is in an uptrend (SPY above its 200‑day average). If yes, it rides tech/Nasdaq uptrends with leveraged ETFs; if no, it shifts to hedges. A “hot/cold” meter (RSI: 0–100) and short-term drops help it buy dips (TQQQ/TECL/LABU) or flip to defense (SQQQ/SPXU), Treasuries (TLT/TMF), cash-like bonds (BSV/SHY), the dollar (UUP), gold (GLD), or volatility funds (UVXY/VIXY). Oil (DBO) and an “old tech” basket add diversification. All moves follow preset rules.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample stats show higher risk-adjusted returns than the S&P 500: Sharpe ~3.00 vs ~2.72, annualized return ~38.6% vs 35.6%, and alpha ~0.086, with Calmar ~6.54. Tech tilt plus dynamic hedges target bigger upside with controlled risk.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
