About

A rules-based portfolio that rotates among tech stocks, bonds, gold, the U.S. dollar, and defensive sectors. It goes on offense when trends are calm/up, and moves to safety or hedges during spikes or drops. Uses some leveraged funds for extra punch.
NutHow it works
Three sleeves: Growth 40%, Yield 35%, Preservation 25%. It checks daily for trend (price vs average), stress (jumpiness and recent drops), and momentum (recent winners). When stocks are calm/rising, it leans into a tech index (sometimes with leverage). When stress rises or prices fall fast, it shifts to safety: short/long Treasuries, gold, U.S. dollar, and defensive sectors. In shocks it can hedge with a VIX fund; when bonds trend up it may use a leveraged Treasury fund, and when rates rise an inverse Treasury fund.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: Sharpe 1.56, Calmar 2.25, max drawdown 9.1% vs ~18.8% for S&P, 941 days tested. Annualized return 20.38% vs 21.57%, but with far stronger downside protection and risk-adjusted durability.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
