This strategy is a fast-moving market timer. It usually wants to own 3x bullish stock funds tied to tech, the Nasdaq, and the S&P 500. But first it checks if the market looks too hot after a sharp run-up. If so, it moves into crash-protection funds like UVXY and other defensive holdings. If the market looks sharply beaten down instead, it buys the leveraged stock funds. If conditions are weak overall, it may hide in T-bills or use a fund that profits when the Nasdaq falls.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
