About

Daily, gold-only strategy that flips between UGL (2x long) and GLL (-2x short) using trend filters and an overbought/oversold gauge. Long in uptrends except when too hot; short in downtrends unless oversold.
NutHow it works
Each day it looks only at gold. It compares moving averages (50 vs 200 days; then 20 vs 50; then 5 vs 10) to label the trend. It uses RSI, a 0–100 gauge of how overheated (high) or washed‑out (low) price is. Actions: hold UGL (2x long gold) when trend is up or gold is oversold; switch to GLL (-2x short gold) when gold gets too hot (~RSI 60–100) or in downtrends unless it’s deeply oversold (~<30). Rebalanced daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample tests suggest this gold-only, trend-following strategy outperforms the S&P 500 on a risk-adjusted basis by riding durable gold moves with disciplined daily rebalancing and 2x long/short exposure, a single-asset, rules-based edge with defined risk.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
