About

A rule-based strategy that buys 3x stock funds on calm, “washed‑out” dips; in choppy markets it buys big 5‑day drops or parks in a dollar/gold/defensive mix; and in healthier uptrends it holds a leveraged stocks + long‑bond blend.
NutHow it works
It runs two copies of the rules (two “calm” cutoffs) and averages them. If the S&P 500 has been calm, it buys ONE fund with the lowest recent up‑vs‑down‑day score (RSI): UPRO=3x S&P 500, TECL=3x tech, or SHY=short‑term Treasuries. If choppy: when >10% off highs it buys 5‑day “dips” in TQQQ or UPRO unless a +5% 1‑day snapback says don’t chase; otherwise it parks in UUP (US dollar), GLD (gold), XLP (defensive stocks). In healthier uptrends it holds ~55% UPRO/TQQQ (favoring the steadier one) and ~45% TMF (3x long Treasuries). Trades only on signals.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy targets ~38.8% annualized return vs ~23.3% for the S&P 500, using adaptive dip-buying and risk regimes to chase higher upside while maintaining disciplined risk (Calmar ~0.74; Sharpe ~0.92).

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
