About
Equal‑weighted, weekly trend‑following mix of US stocks (broad market, real estate, financials, health care) and long Treasuries. Each sleeve shifts to BIL (T‑Bills) when its 50‑day average price falls below its 200‑day average.
Your money is split equally across 5 sleeves: SPY (US large stocks), VNQ (US real estate), XLF (financials), XLV (health care), and TLT (long US Treasuries). Each week, for each sleeve, we compare its 50‑day average price to its 200‑day average. If the short average is below the long one (downtrend), that sleeve moves to BIL (1–3 mo T‑Bills, cash‑like). Otherwise we hold the ETF. Then we rebalance back to equal weights.
Out-of-sample, this trend-following sleeve strategy cuts drawdowns (2.8% vs SPY’s 5.1%), and shows strong risk-adjusted resilience (Calmar 3.62), delivering steadier gains and downside protection vs the S&P 500, even with lower raw returns.
