This strategy checks the market every day and changes positions aggressively. Most of the time, it asks 3 questions: Is the market overheated? Is it washed out? Is the long-term trend up or down? If stocks look too hot, it moves into crash hedges like UVXY and BTAL. If stocks look very beaten down, it may buy leveraged stock funds like TQQQ or UPRO for a rebound. Otherwise, it rotates into whichever mix of tech, commodities, defensive funds, or alternative trend funds has recently been acting best.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
