Frontrunner: Copper

A symphony is an automated trading strategy — Learn more about symphonies here

About

A daily, copper-driven switch. Huge copper drops trigger buying the most beaten-up high‑beta ETF (often SOXL); huge copper surges trigger buying UVXY (volatility). No extreme move? Sit in BIL (T‑bills). Uses leveraged ETFs; very high risk.
NutHow it works
Every day it checks copper moves using COPX (copper miners) and CPER (copper futures). If COPX drops >8%: buy SOXL (3x semiconductors). Else if COPX jumps >7%: buy UVXY (long VIX). Else if CPER drops >4%: buy the worst of SVXY (short VIX), SOXL, TQQQ (3x Nasdaq), or UPRO (3x S&P). Else if CPER jumps >8%: buy UVXY. Otherwise hold BIL (T‑bills).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: 29.1% annualized return vs SPY ~19%, Calmar 1.24, Sharpe 0.84. Low beta, higher upside from leverage/volatility bets, with bigger drawdowns; growth plus diversification.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
