About
A high-risk trading strategy that bets on sharp reversals: after big market surges it buys volatility funds, after steep drops it may buy leveraged stock funds, and otherwise sits in cash-like Treasury bills.
This strategy watches whether the U.S. stock market—especially big tech—is moving too far, too fast.
If tech or the broad market gets extremely “hot,” it moves into volatility funds like UVXY/VIXY/VIXM, which tend to rise when fear jumps.
If the market gets sharply “beaten down,” it may buy aggressive stock funds like TECL or SPXL for a rebound.
If neither setup appears, it parks money in very short-term Treasury bills (BIL) or short-term bonds (BSV).
Out-of-sample upside vs SPY: ~29.9% annualized (vs ~20.1%), Calmar ~1.62, drawdown ~18.4%. A rules-based, tactical strategy using volatility hedges and mean-reversion for stronger, steadier growth than the S&P 500.
