About

A tactical, contrarian system: when QQQ/SPY/tech look overheated, it buys VIX‑linked “fear” funds; when they look washed out, it buys 3x bull equity or short‑vol. No signal = sit in T‑bills/short bonds. Multiple sleeves with aggressive/safe triggers.
NutHow it works
It watches a short‑term “heat meter” (RSI) on big US stock indexes: QQQ (Nasdaq‑100), SPY (S&P 500), XLK (tech), VOOG (growth), plus 3x versions TQQQ/SPXL. • If they look very hot, it buys “fear” funds tied to the VIX (UVXY/VIXY; sometimes VIXM) expecting a pullback. • If they look very cold, it buys 3x bull funds (TECL/SPXL) or short‑vol (SVXY) for a rebound. • Otherwise it parks in T‑bills/bonds (BIL/BSV). Several sleeves use slightly different triggers; the largest (~55%) keys off QQQ/TQQQ.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy aims for higher annualized returns (~24.5% vs SPY's 21.5%), with comparable drawdown (~18.4% vs ~18.8%) and a stronger risk-adjusted profile (Calmar ~1.33). A tactical, contrarian overlay on volatility and levered ETFs.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
