About
A diversified barbell: gold and bitcoin for punch, Treasuries for ballast, managed futures for big trends, and T‑bills for cash. Built to slightly benefit from turmoil. Rebalanced quarterly with extra rebalancing on large drifts or high volatility.
It’s a barbell meant to hold up—and sometimes benefit—when markets get wild.
40% “shock absorbers/upside”: Gold (GLD) 25%, Bitcoin (IBIT) 15%.
40% “stabilizers”: U.S. Treasuries—medium (IEF) 25% and long (TLT) 15%.
15% “trend hedge”: Managed futures (DBMF).
5% cash‑like T‑bills (BIL).
Rebalance quarterly, or if weights drift >10% or VIX >25.
A resilient, antifragile barbell: 40% shock absorbers (gold/bitcoin), 40% ballast (US Treasuries), 15% trend (managed futures), 5% cash. Volatility-driven rebalancing seeks lower drawdowns and steadier upside vs. the S&P 500.
