About

Daily, no-leverage, rule-based strategy that tilts to volatility (VIXY) with a small hedge (TLT+BTAL) when short-term momentum signals get extreme; otherwise it allocates across a four-corner equity framework and cash, rebalancing every day.
NutHow it works
Plain-language description of the decision flow: Each day the engine calculates a short-term momentum score (RSI) for several popular market ETFs (SPY, IOO, QQQ, VTV, VOX, XLP, XLK). If any RSI reading is very high (over 80 or so), it shifts toward the volatility sleeve: VIXY gets 75% of the invested cash and the remaining 25% goes to an Alternate hedge (TLT + BTAL). The system can progressively increase the VIXY tilt if signals stay strong, up to a heavier overweight in volatility hedges (Scale-In). If signals aren’t high enough, the strategy distributes cash across a Four Corners equity framework (essentially different combinations of growth, value, tech, staples, etc.) to participate in market rises while keeping risk in check. The approach uses a mix of cash weights and fixed weights for VIXY and the hedging pair, and it rebalances daily with no borrowed money. Ticker explanations: VIXY is a volatility tracker, TLT is long-dated Treasuries, BTAL is a hedge/volatility-oriented ETF; SPY, QQQ, IOO, VTV, VOX, XLP, XLK are broad or sector ETFs used to build the Four Corners allocations.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
