About

A rule-based, risk-on/off strategy. If QQQ is extremely cold, it buys 3x tech for a bounce; if extremely hot, it hedges with volatility. Otherwise, it uses a QQQ-vs-utilities and corporate-bonds-vs-T‑bills 2x2 to choose between 3x QQQ, EM stocks, an anti‑beta hedge, or short QQQ.
NutHow it works
Step 1 (quick check on QQQ): if QQQ’s short-term “heat score” (RSI: 0=cold, 100=hot) is very low (<31), buy TECL (3x tech) for a rebound; if very high (>78), buy VIXY (volatility) for a pullback hedge. Step 2 (core 2x2): compare longer-term strength of QQQ (big US tech) vs VPU (utilities). Also compare CORP (investment‑grade corporate bonds) vs BIL (T‑bills). - QQQ stronger + CORP> BIL → TQQQ (3x Nasdaq). - QQQ stronger + CORP ≤ BIL → choose TQQQ or BTAL (anti‑beta) using a Treasury (IEF) vs short‑QQQ (PSQ) tie‑breaker. - VPU stronger + CORP> BIL → VWO (emerging markets). - VPU stronger + CORP ≤ BIL → PSQ (short QQQ).
CheckmarkValue prop
A regime-switching, risk-managed strategy that blends leveraged tech bets with hedges to capture rallies and mitigate tail risk. Diversifies away from the S&P 500’s single-factor exposure. OOS: ~13% annualized vs ~19% for the S&P; higher drawdowns.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
