This strategy keeps 10% in relatively steadier holdings: 5% in short-term U.S. Treasury bonds (VGSH) and 5% in dividend-focused stocks (VIG). It uses the S&P 500 (SPY) as a market “temperature check” with RSI, a measure of how unusually strong or weak recent price moves have been. If the market looks overheated, it moves the remaining 90% into two more defensive companies: UnitedHealth and Costco. If the market looks beaten down, it puts that 90% into the 2 strongest recent performers among 3 aggressive bullish funds: SOXL, TECL, and SPXL. Otherwise, it buys the 2 strongest stocks from a list of big-name growth companies like Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Nvidia, Tesla, and others.

Out-of-sample: ~51% annualized return vs ~19.5% for SPY; Sharpe ~1.35 vs ~1.27; Calmar ~1.93. RSI-driven regime switching with 10% ballast defends hot markets and 90% bets chase growth—higher drawdowns, but far stronger upside than the S&P 500.
