About

A daily‑rebalanced, rules‑based strategy that rotates between fast stock funds, volatility trades, Treasuries, hedges, and cash. It uses simple “heat” (RSI), trend, and volatility checks to lean risk‑on in calm uptrends and defensive when markets overheat or get jumpy.
NutHow it works
It’s a “switch hitter.” Each day it checks a few dials: - Heat meter (RSI): 0–100 score of how fast price rose. >70 = hot/overbought, <30 = cold/oversold. - Trend: price vs its average (like the 200‑day). - Volatility and recent returns/drawdowns. When stocks are strong and calm, it rides fast funds like TQQQ/UPRO or SVXY. When things look too hot or jumpy, it flips to crash insurance (UVXY/VIXY), Treasuries (TMF/TLT), hedges (BTAL/PSQ/SH) or T‑Bills (BIL/SHV). In panics it can even buy volatility; after selloffs, it may buy beaten‑down tech. It rebalances daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers ~54% annualized return vs ~21% for the S&P, with higher Sharpe (~1.41 vs ~1.15) and Calmar (~2.39). Dynamic hedges and trend rules chase rallies while improving risk-adjusted upside/downside balance.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
