About

A rules‑based, daily strategy that rides stock uptrends, adds hedges when markets get “too hot,” and goes defensive (bonds/cash/short) in downtrends. Uses liquid ETFs across tech, S&P, Treasuries, volatility, and anti‑beta to diversify and protect.
NutHow it works
First, it checks if US stocks (SPY) are in a long‑term uptrend (above the 200‑day average). In uptrends it owns tech/S&P/Dow ETFs, but if things look “too hot,” it adds crash‑airbags (UVXY + BTAL). In downtrends it shifts to Treasuries/cash or inverse stock funds. A bond‑trend sleeve (TMF/TMV/TLT) and a volatility sleeve (SVXY/UPRO) add diversification. Sizing favors calmer sleeves. RSI is a short‑term “speedometer”: very high = overheated; very low = washed out.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: lower max drawdown (11.2% vs SPY 18.8%), near-zero beta, and Calmar ~1.14. A diversified hedge across bonds, volatility, and anti-beta aims to protect capital with solid risk-adjusted returns, unlike a pure SPY bet.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
