About

A daily-rebalanced, multi-asset rule engine that blends equities with hedges (eg UVXY, BTAL) and short/long beta bets. It uses RSI and momentum signals across many ETFs to allocate weight across nested sub-portfolios (Bear/Bull regimes, Four Corners, TINA, etc.), with explicit 50/50 or 25/75 hedges and a daily reset of positions.
NutHow it works
In plain language, this is a large cookbook of rules that decides where to put your money each day. It looks at a broad set of asset proxies (mostly ETFs) and runs them through several filters: - RSI-based signals: is price momentum/extremes high or low on a window (eg 10 days, 20 days, 60 days, etc)? - Moving-average and price-relative checks: is the current price above/below a moving average or above/below its own recent trend? - Relative performance comparisons: is one ETF outperforming another or a benchmark like SPY/QQQ on a lookback window? - Momentum and cumulative-return checks: has a security’s price or return profile shown a sustained move? If many conditions line up (the nested “if” statements all pass), a slice of capital is allocated to that sub-portfolio; otherwise that branch stays at cash or uses its alternate path. Within each sub-portfolio you’ll see explicit pairings or groupings of assets, sometimes with equal weights (50/50) or skewed splits (25/75, 75/25). Asset mix emphasis: - Core equity exposure (eg SPY, QQQ, XLK, SH, QID, PSQ, SSO, etc.) - Hedges and anti-beta or market-neutral ideas (BTAL, UVXY, PSQ, SVXY, TQQQ, etc.) to protect or amplify depending on regime signals - Tactical futures/short-bias layers (short QQQ, short S&P 500, etc.) blended with long/long-tilted components like SPY DOW, TMV/TMF momentum modules (bond-oriented hedges) and other sector/stock-bundles Regime and grouping: - The strategy is organized into named groups with themes like “Bear,” “Bull,” “Four Corners,” and “TINA.” Each theme contains its own RSI/momentum logic and, if activated, contributes its weighted slice to the overall portfolio. - Daily rebalance implies the rules are evaluated each trading day, and weights may shift to reflect the latest signals. What you end up owning on a given day is a composite of many small pieces: sometimes a hedge-heavy sleeve (eg UVXY + BTAL) in a 50/50 split; sometimes a more aggressive tilt toward certain bearish bets; and at other times a bear/neutral stance from the “Bear” branches. The entire system is designed to switch between risk-on (bullish) and risk-off (bearish/hedged) modes based on the sequence of RSI, moving-average, and momentum checks across a broad universe of ETFs.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample strength: lower drawdown (11.2% vs 18.8% for the S&P) and solid risk-adjusted metrics (Calmar ~0.92, Sharpe ~0.64) with hedged diversification. Daily rebalancing and regime awareness aim for steadier, long-term gains vs the S&P.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
