About

An aggressive, rules-based swing strategy that flips among leveraged stock ETFs, leveraged Treasuries, and volatility (VXX) using trend, “hot/cold” readings (RSI), and big-move alarms. It aims to buy sharp dips, fade euphoria, and defend during panics.
NutHow it works
Tools: Trend (price vs avg), RSI (0–100 heat; >70=hot, <30=cold), and big‑move alerts. 1) If “fear” spikes (UVXY hot), hold VXX (volatility). 2) If stocks (SPY) trend up and aren’t too hot, buy one 3x bull ETF—often after it looks cold—like TQQQ (Nasdaq), SOXL (semis), SPXL/UPRO (S&P). 3) If stocks weaken or rates dominate, use TMF (3x long Treasuries) or TMV (3x short), or a defensive pick. 4) If commodities lead, tilt to energy/commodities.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample annualized return ~55.6% vs SPY ~18.2%, with solid risk-adjusted metrics (Sharpe ~0.93, Calmar ~0.93). Dynamic trend/volatility hedging aims to compound faster than the S&P while managing risk.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
