About
A daily tactical strategy: above the 200‑day trend it rides tech strength, buys dips, and steps aside when markets run too hot; below it, it shorts the Nasdaq. Uses leveraged, inverse, and VIX funds. High risk, fast‑moving, offense/defense switching.
First, a trend test: if the S&P 500 is above its 200‑day average, go on offense; if below, use shorts (mainly SQQQ) and cut risk.
On offense: if things look “too hot” (10‑day RSI—a 0–100 heat gauge—near 80), shift to cash (BIL) and a hedge (BTAL). If not hot and tech is leading, load tech funds (TECL/SOXL/TQQQ). Big one‑day spikes add VIX/SH hedges; sharp drops (RSI<30) buy the dip. KMLM=trend‑following futures; BTAL=defensive; BIL=T‑bills; VOX=communications.
Out-of-sample edge: Sharpe 1.35 vs SPY 1.02; Calmar 2.55; annualized return ~91% vs ~18%; alpha ~0.46. Higher beta/leverage boosts upside but increases drawdown; disciplined risk controls target superior risk-adjusted growth vs S&P 500.
