A fast-moving market-timing strategy that hides in cash-like Treasury bills when stocks look overheated, buys aggressive stock funds after sharp pullbacks, and can bet against the Nasdaq in weak markets.

This strategy checks the market every day. If several major stock areas look too overheated after a fast run-up, it moves to very safe Treasury-bill holdings, with a small hedge position. If the market looks sharply sold off, it buys aggressive funds that amplify moves in the Nasdaq or S&P 500. If the longer trend turns weak, it often shifts to funds that rise when the Nasdaq falls.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
