About
A fast-moving market-timing strategy that flips among fear trades, bullish rebound bets, bearish bets, and cash-like Treasury bills using aggressive leveraged funds.
This strategy checks whether the stock market looks overheated, washed out, or weak. If major stock indexes have risen too fast, it shifts to UVXY, a fund that tends to jump when fear spikes. If stocks have fallen hard, it may buy leveraged funds tied to the Nasdaq or S&P 500 for a rebound. Otherwise it often sits in Treasury bills or uses bearish/defensive funds. It re-checks these signals daily.
Out-of-sample: market-timing strategy targets ~29.7% annualized return vs S&P ~18.3%, with Calmar ~1.18 and positive alpha. Higher drawdowns (~25%) but potential for greater long-run growth through tactical hedging.
