About

Aggressive, daily tactical strategy: a 60% active sleeve flips among a volatility spike bet, leveraged tech longs/shorts, and Nasdaq hedges using short‑term “hot/cold” gauges, a 200‑day S&P filter, and KMLM (managed‑futures) as a trend barometer.
NutHow it works
60% of the portfolio runs a daily rules engine. It first checks RSI (a short‑term “hot/cold” gauge) on broad markets. If very hot, it bets on a volatility spike via UVXY, buffered with T‑bills (BIL) and anti‑beta (BTAL). If very cold, it buys leveraged stock funds. Otherwise it uses the S&P 500’s 200‑day average to pick Bull or Bear. In Bull it rides or shorts tech/semis using KMLM—a managed‑futures trend barometer. In Bear it flips between Nasdaq longs/shorts using bond‑strength signals.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample annualized return ~46% vs SPY ~21%, with Calmar ~1.13. A dynamic, regime-switching approach combines volatility, tech momentum, and macro trend signals with ballast to capture upside while controlling risk—edge over the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
