A cautious-but-aggressive market-timing strategy: 40% stays cash-like, while 60% shifts daily between T-bills, bullish tech bets, or bearish Nasdaq/tech bets based on whether markets look overheated, weak, or stressed.

This strategy keeps about 40% in a cash-like holding and actively trades the other 60% every day. First, if stocks look overheated, it hides in BIL, a very short-term Treasury-bill fund. If not, it looks for either a rebound or a trend. In good markets, it usually makes aggressive bets on tech, semiconductors, and the Nasdaq. But if KMLM, a crisis-friendly trend-following fund, looks stronger than tech, it can flip and bet against those same areas instead. In weak markets, it uses bond-market signals to decide whether to be defensive, bet against the Nasdaq, or occasionally buy a rebound.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
