About

A daily tactical strategy. First, it checks the market’s trend (SPY vs 200‑day average). In uptrends, it hedges when stocks look overheated and buys rebounds when they look washed out; otherwise it rotates across sectors/commodities. In downtrends, it leans on hedges, Treasuries, or cash, with occasional bounce trades.
NutHow it works
Daily, rules-based, risk-on/risk-off. 1) Big switch: if the S&P 500 (SPY) is above its 200‑day average → Bull; else → Bear. 2) Bull: if markets look overheated (RSI = an overbought/oversold gauge; very high = “too hot”), buy crash insurance (UVXY, sometimes mixed with BTAL). If washed out (very low RSI), buy rebounds (TQQQ/UPRO). Otherwise rotate among ETFs (stocks, sectors, commodities), tilting to commodities when they trend. 3) Bear: favor hedges (short QQQ via PSQ/SQQQ), Treasuries (TLT/IEF), or cash (BIL), but take quick rebound trades when signals say so.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample this strategy targets ~38.8% annualized return vs SPY ~18.5%, with a Calmar ~1.71 and ~0.97 Sharpe—aiming for stronger upside with disciplined risk controls, though drawdowns can be higher in stress periods.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
