About

Defensive and Nasdaq‑focused: sit in T‑Bills when the S&P 500 trends up; when it weakens, tactically flip between long or short Nasdaq (and sometimes BTAL) using simple trend/strength gauges. Uses leveraged ETFs and rebalances daily.
NutHow it works
Tickers: SPY=S&P 500; Nasdaq up-bets=QQQ/TQQQ/QLD; down-bets=PSQ/SQQQ; bonds=BND/AGG/IEF; cash=BIL; BTAL=long low‑risk/short high‑risk. Indicators: moving average (avg price) and RSI (recent up vs down). Daily: If the S&P 500 is above its 200‑day average, hold T‑Bills (BIL). If below, use a Nasdaq‑heavy bear plan: after big drops, try a rebound (QLD) if bonds look stronger, else BTAL. Otherwise, go long only if trend is firm; short (PSQ or 3× SQQQ) when weak.
CheckmarkValue prop
Defensive, tactical Nasdaq strategy: stay in Treasuries when the S&P trends up, and opportunistically target Nasdaq in down markets. Out-of-sample: lower drawdown (16.4% vs 18.8%), lower beta, Calmar ~1.09, and stronger risk-adjusted protection vs the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
