About

A monthly, trend-following mix: keep 50% in cash, and put the other 50% into the two best 6‑month performers among US stocks, long Treasuries, gold, commodities, and the US dollar. Seeks steadier rides by rotating toward what’s been working.
NutHow it works
Each month, it checks which two of five choices rose the most over the past ~6 months: US stocks (SPY), long-term US Treasury bonds (TLT), gold (GLD), broad commodities (DBC), or the US dollar vs other currencies (UUP). It keeps 50% in cash and splits the other 50% evenly across those two picks.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy beats SPY on risk-adjusted terms: Sharpe 1.61 vs 1.30, Calmar 1.72, and much smaller drawdowns (10.4% vs 18.8%), with 50% in cash and diversified macro asset bets for smoother, more resilient growth.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
