About

A daily-rebalanced, multi-slice ETF strategy that shifts between 3x leveraged stock bets (UPRO/TQQQ) and defensive hedges (TMF, UUP, GLD, XLP) based on momentum, dip checks, and risk signals to balance growth and protection.
NutHow it works
The fund runs many signals in parallel across different time horizons. If the market looks favorable (based on momentum, dip signals, and moving averages), it allocates to equal-weighted 3x long stock bets (UPRO and TQQQ). If risk rises (drawdown, volatility, or momentum cues flip), it shifts toward defensive assets: dollar index (UUP), gold (GLD), staples (XLP), and long Treasuries (TMF) for hedging. Daily rebalancing updates the mix as signals change. The system also uses dip-check logic to try to buy the dip using leveraged longs when short-term momentum dips across SPY/QQQ are observed, while keeping a separate risk-off module (HFEAR) when broader risk appears elevated. A broad risk-control framework (max drawdown, standard deviation, and moving-average tests) helps prevent catastrophic losses. In short: it tries to ride up moves with high-leverage bets, but automatically moves into safer assets and hedges when risk signals indicate trouble, spreading risk across a diversified ETF set and adjusting exposure day by day.

Out-of-sample: ~55% annualized return vs SPY ~23%, Calmar ~1.21. Daily adaptive 3x longs with hedges aim for higher growth than the S&P 500, while rotating to defensives to manage risk.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
